The OneOfUs Scholarship

At the NIT we want to give talented people from all over the world the opportunity to receive a high quality education level and the chance to study for a Master's degree in Technology Management. With your membership fee or donation invested into a (partial) scholarship we can take in students who would otherwise not be able to finance their NIT studies.

Short-term financial support for students in financial need

Hard times can meet us all. For a student, not being able to pay rent or study fees due to unforeseen circumstances can be a huge stress factor on top of a intense study program.
In case of urgent financial need, the commuNITy e. V. board is able to provide short-term financial support to students to pay their living and studying costs in times of acute need.

You can add to that money by donating to our dedicated betterplace.org donation account, specifically for that need.

Networking opportunities for the alumni & student community

Your donation helps to finance events such as our annual SummerBBQ, Advent meeting, or other events to connect current and past students as well as other members of the wider NIT community. Also, we regularly organize company visits with partner companies and interesting employers to offer NIT students to get the chance to get to know career opprtunities in Northern Germany. If needed, we support these activities financially.

"After completing my Bachelor's degree in Malaysia, I sought postgraduate opportunities abroad to broaden my horizons. The search was challenging due to the high financial costs of many international programs and intense competition for financial aid. When I was informed that I was the first recipient of the One of Us Scholarship in 2016 to study at the Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT), I was ecstatic and seized the opportunity.

My time at NIT was one of the most influential phases of my career. I had the privilege of working with and befriending many highly motivated international peers. This experience significantly boosted my self-confidence and leadership skills, qualities that have helped me navigate today's highly competitive business environment. To this day, I can count on a strong network of driven individuals from the NIT, always ready to support one another.
Looking back now, I am deeply grateful for the One of Us Scholarship, made possible by the NIT Alumni Association (now commuNITy e. V.), and hope that the program continues to receive support so that future generations of NIT students can benefit from this remarkable opportunity."

„I’ve always known that I wanted to pursue an MBA someday — it’s been a long-standing dream of mine. When I came across the opportunity to combine an MBA at the NIT with an MSc in Mechatronics at TUHH, I knew it was the perfect fit. It aligned with my background in mechanical engineering and my professional experience in product design, while also giving me the chance to grow into a more versatile and impactful professional.

For the longest time, I wondered if such an opportunity was even possible for someone like me. The financial aspect was a constant worry and pursuing two world-class programs like these felt almost out of reach. But receiving a partial scholarship changed everything. It lifted such a huge weight off my shoulders and allowed me to focus on the exciting journey ahead, rather than stressing over how to manage the funds.
